How do I make sure I look like I train?
If you exercise routinely throughout the week there is nothing more frustrating than when someone who hasn't seen you for a while asks "Have you been training?" or you meet someone for the first time who asks "Do you train at all"? All that hard work......for what? While some people are disciplined with the hour or so they train for .. the question is what are they doing with the other 23 hours of the day? To get results takes DISCIPLINE both in the training you do and the food you eat.
Here's a checklist to help identify possible areas that may require attention!
* Before you go to eat something ask yourself do I need it or want it?
*  Are you using the left side of the brain to choose food rather than your palate
* Are you eating every 3-4 hours (this stabilises blood sugar and improves your insulin sensitivity)
* Are you eating 5 small meals each day - this gives you sustained energy, can give you a strong workout drive and a healthy functional immune system
* Are you eating a diet of at least 80% fresh whole food from the ground?
* Are you drinking water regularly during the day, during workouts and separate from meals?
* Are you maintaining good technique while you exercise
* Are you working large muscle groups first?
* Do you incorporate mainly compound movements in your exercise routine ?(great if you are training for general health and fitness and time efficiency is crucial)
* Do you regularly vary your program - change something about you do eg. exercise, sets , reps, something to stimulate your body to progress
* Are you getting enough sleep?
