Kids Under Cover - Community Champion

Our community Champion this week is Jo Swift from Kids Under Cover.

Kids Under Cover is an incredible organisation. The vision of Kids Under Cover is for all young people to reach their full potential. Their mission is to build homes and provide scholarships for homeless and at risk young people.

Kids Under Cover focus on preventing young people from becoming homeless and where possible keeping families together by raising funds to construct purpose-built houses and demountable bungalows. In partnership with Community Service Organisation members, young people receive the ongoing support they so desperately need.

The ultimate aim is for young people to stay connected with family, school and community. Young people living in a Kids Under Cover home are offered the opportunity to pursue their educational and training goals via a scholarship program. The scheme provides financial and mentor support to help young people develop skills and knowledge in their chosen field so they may become contributing members of the community.
