ReadJohn 3:1-17 Jesus answered and said tohim, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see thekingdom of God.” Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old?He cannot enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born, can he?” Jesusanswered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and theSpirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the fleshis flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit...For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, thatwhoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” (vv.3-6,16) You’vebeen born physically, but have you been born spiritually yet? Godcreated mankind to be in a healthy spiritual relationship with Him. At first,it was the way it was meant to be--and life was beautiful. But then men andwomen decided to live life their way. Theirselfish disobedience broke their relationship with God and they becamespiritually dead to God. We’ve been born in that same condition: physicallyalive, but spiritually dead. Jesusdied on the cross in your place, to pay the penalty for your sins so that youcould be restored to God and made spiritually alive. God’s inviting you: putyour trust in Jesus Christ today. |
