Read Philippians2:5-9

 [Jesus], although He existed in the formof God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptiedHimself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness ofmen. Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becomingobedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. (vv. 6-8)

God is involved inour world!

John 3:16

For God so loved theworld, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shouldnot perish, but have eternal life.

God loves you!

Why was Jesus born?Because “God so loved the world”. The story of Jesus’ birth is not justa warm fuzzy story about a sweet baby born to nice people who were having ahard time. It isn’t just an exciting story about wise men and shepherds and amanger.

John1:1-2, 14-16

In the beginning was theWord, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginningwith God … And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory,glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth. Johntestified about Him and cried out, saying, “This was He of whom I said, ‘He whocomes after me has a higher rank than I, for He existed before me.’” For of Hisfullness we have all received, and grace upon grace.

Now in those days a decreewent out from Caesar Augustus, that a census be taken of all the inhabitedearth … Joseph also went up from Galilee, from the city of Nazareth, to Judea,to the city of David which is called Bethlehem…in order to register along withMary, who was engaged to him, and was with child. While they were there, thedays were completed for her to give birth. And she gave birth to her firstbornson; and she wrapped Him in cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there wasno room for them in the inn. In the same region there were some shepherdsstaying out in the fields and keeping watch over their flock by night. And anangel of the Lord suddenly stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone aroundthem; and they were terribly frightened. But the angel said to them, “Do not beafraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for allthe people; for today in the city of David there has been born for you aSaviour, who is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign for you: you will find ababy wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”

Galatians4:4

But when the fullness ofthe time came, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman…

Don’tignore Jesus Christ!

Galatians4:4-7

But when the fullness of thetime came, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law, so thatHe might redeem those who were under the Law, that we might receive theadoption as sons. Because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of HisSon into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!” Therefore you are no longer aslave, but a son; and if a son, then an heir through God.

AsRich Miller has said, “When Christentered our world, He didn't come to brighten our Decembers, but to transformour lives!”

Luke5:15-16

But the news about Him wasspreading even farther, and large crowds were gathering to hear Him and to behealed of their sicknesses. But Jesus Himself would often slip away to thewilderness and pray.

Whenyou are deciding how to balance your time, don’t forget that spending time withGod is the most important thing you can do!

Mark1:33-36

And the whole city hadgathered at the door. And He healed many who were ill with various diseases,and cast out many demons; and He was not permitting the demons to speak,because they knew who He was. In the early morning, while it was still dark,Jesus got up, left the house, and went away to a secluded place, and waspraying there. Simon and his companions searched for Him.

Donot let busyness keep you from spending your time wisely!
