Matthew 6:9-13 Pray, then, in thisway:

            ‘OurFather who is in heaven,

            Hallowedbe Your name.

Your kingdom come.

            Yourwill be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.

And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Yoursis the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.’

Learn to make your prayers specific!

Jesus didn’t give us this prayer to memorise and recite, butrather as a model, a pattern to follow. In this pattern He taught us to prayvery specifically about our daily needs. “Giveus this day our daily bread.”

Think about the issues of your life, of your day today. Whatis on your heart for God to get involved in? When you only pray generally aboutGod’s activity in your life, it is hard to notice what He has done. Pray veryspecifically about these things on your heart. And then at the end of the daylook back at what you prayed about and recognise God’s involvement. Give Himthe honour and praise for what He has done.
