Galatians 4:4-7 But when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law, so that He might redeem those who were under the Law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. Because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!” Therefore you are no longer a slave, but a son; and if a son, then an heir through God.
Jesus came into this world with a mission!
“God sent forth His Son.” Jesus was born on purpose. He was sent. When you read the gospels you see that by the age of twelve, Jesus was already eager to get on with His reason for being here. Everything in Jesus’ life was aiming at the cross. He told His disciples He would die on the cross and rise again long before those events happened. Jesus’ death on the cross was not an unfortunate accident. It was God’s plan from the beginning.
If the Lord Jesus went through all the pains of life in this fallen world, and then all the physical agony of the cross, and then the spiritual agony of rejection by God the Father in order to make a way for people to find God’s forgiveness, don’t you think you could take the opportunity that Christmas provides to talk to someone about Christ this season?
