Read Psalm 119:89-96 Forever, O Lord, Yourword is settled in heaven. Your faithfulness continues throughout all generations; You established the earth and it stands. They stand this day according to Yourordinances, for all things are Your servants. (vv. 89-91)
God’s word is immutable. That means that it can’t change. The things said in God’s word are as sure as any other indisputable fact onearth. As the psalmist puts it, God’s word is settled forever in heaven. God is faithful to what He says in His word “throughout all generations”. Thatincludes the generation we are living in right now! Everything God has promised, everything He has revealed about Himself, everything He has committed Himselfto, every warning He has given—all of these things—are as certain as God’s ownexistence. Nothing can stand in the way of God’s word, “for all things are [His] servants.” Doyou see what God is saying to you today in this passage? If God’s word is theabsolutely certain description of how God will act in your life, don’t youthink you should understand it? If God’s word contains promises that you canclaim for your life, don’t you think you should be claiming them? If God’s wordgives you a true understanding of God Himself, don’t you think you should studyit? Be sure and journal your response to what God is saying toyou today in the space provided. |
