This morning we heard some of the story of Chuck Colson - President Richard Nixon's "Hatchet Man".
He was the first within the Nixon Whitehouse to be imprisoned for his role in Watergate, but nowdays after a remarkable conversion to Jesus he runs prison Fellowship who serves prisoners, prisoners familys and guards.
One moment tragically changed John Ramsden's life forever. See the footage of the moment when John's baseball career was cut short by an (apparent) deliberate baseball throw to the face. (Please note - footage below is not for the faint hearted!)
Even though this moment may have stopped his baseball career - it started a true awakening within John to the love of Jesus.
Problem Gambling
This Morning we heard from Gabi Byrne on 1-on-1. She was a problem gambler who had a "Hot passionate affair with Pokie Machines".
She isn't addicted to the pokies anymore and spends her time helping others free themselves from the gambling addiction.
Find out more about her story as well as plenty of resources for free if you or a loved one have a problem with gambling.
Bernadette Black
This morning on 1-on-1 we spoke to Bernadette (Bernie) Black, who became a mum at sixteen and looked for inspiration and hope,
however she found little around her. She
experienced many challenging moments as she decided to keep her baby while
still completing studies and being the best mum she could be. She had to cope with people’s opposing
opinions and even lost her boyfriend at the time.
She now has a website, authored a book (Brave Little Bear) and speaks publicly
about her journey in the hope to support other teenagers in a similar
situation.
If you find yourself in a teenage pregnancy situation there are plenty of great links on the internet collated by Bernadette.
You can also find out more about Berndatte, her book and her foundation at her website .
