XXXChurch.com (branded “The no.1. Christian Porn site”) is an online community dedicated to talking about the issues of pornography (as well as giving people ways to beat a porn addiction). The extra material in the Podcast discusses the effect of pornography on kids in regards to the internet as well as the reactions to XXXChurch.com from within and outside the broader church. For FREE downloadable accountability software (as discussed with Brandon) click through to the XXXChurch.com website.
In “Yesterday’s Diary” Jacquie rang to tell me that her niece from NZ is coming to stay with her for a few months. She hasn’t seen her for at least 10 years (when she was a little girl) and when asked what she looked like, was told ‘just like you!’. So at the airport Jacquie just needs to avoid mirrors and she should find her!
Pastor Rob Buckingham during his weekly 'Faith & Life' segment, also answered the question “If there is a God, why does he allow cancers and suffering to happen to good people?”... to listen to Rob's answer...

Today's free Podcast of my One-on-One guest includes EXCLUSIVE material not previously heard on the radio. Hear the story of the 'Mother Teresa' of the courtroom and prison system - Joyce Harmer. Joyce is a Salvation Army officer who has worked for many years as a chaplain to those going through the legal process. She is featured in the new book "Bright Lights, Dark Nights".
In “Yesterday’s Diary” Phil rang to say that he had taken his son Ro, to the Community day in town over the weekend. It was Ro's chance to see policeman, their cars as well as fire-trucks and other community service equipment and personel. Ro, at just the age of 11, already wants to be a police officer when he grows up!
I also had a chat to Johann Poppenbeck, one of the support crew who are travelling with Damian Richmond (pictured when he came in the studio to chat to me before his ride) as he makes his ride across Australia (from Perth to Melbourne). He was just under 200kms away from Melbourne when I spoke to Johann and that means he should break the world record by around 2 days! To donate or find out more about the cause for why Damian is riding (raising money for Rwandan & Ugandan orphans) head to the Race Across Australia website.
Cheers,
Clayton

Download the free the Podcast of this morning’s One-on-One with Darren Smith. On the second day that I spoke to Darren we chatted about his role in Red Dust role models – an organisation that sends out professional sports-people and musicians to remote indigenous communities in Australia to encourage them in regards to education and health. To read up more about Red Dust go to their website.
In “Yesterday’s Diary” Merrilyn rang and told me that her 3 year old son has announced that from now on he is not wearing nappies and is going to wear undies! Well done to him (and Merrilyn was quite happy that she will no longer need to by nappies!).
Have a great weekend – speak to you on Monday.

Download for free the Podcast of this morning’s One-on-One with Darren Smith. Darren played professional basketball in Australia for 10 years. He told me about the struggles of moving his family around the country to play basketball, the constant comparisons to his brother (Jason Smith), who also plays basketball professionally. And the day after his retirement – what was it like waking up being ‘retired’ at around 30 years of age. We are going to continue to chat to Darren tomorrow about his role with Red Dust role models.
Damian Richmond gave me a call from the Nullarbor Roadhouse!! He is currently riding his bicycle across Australia to raise money for Ugandan and Rwandan refugees. He is hoping his trip from Perth to Melbourne will take him just 8 days (breaking the world record by 3 days!). When I spoke to him he had already ridden 1700kms since Saturday - good luck Damian! To find out more about the ride, and to donate to this great cause head to the Race Across Australia website.
In “Yesterday’s Diary” Suzanne told us that she only realized the other day that the Clayton Bjelan that she had been listening to on-air was THE Clayton Bjelan that she went to school with. I can confirm that yes I am that one!!
And all this week instead of the 3 question quiz we are running “Musical Heroes”…

Get the free Podcast of this morning’s One-on-One with Melissa Smith by clicking HERE. Melissa works with Wycliffe Bible Translators in PNG. At the age of 27 she has already dedicated a number of years to work with a training program in PNG, serving primarily as a Kitchen manager. It was great to get a bit more of an insight into Melissa’s work.
In “Yesterday’s Diary” Kathy rang to tell me that she had had a great chat with her son after school about the possibility of a recession or depression due to the financial crisis. Her encouragement to her son was that with trust in God, no matter what happens – it will ultimately be ok. (When I was at school I was deciding which basketball team to play on at lunch – not talking about world economic problems!!! … Times have changed!).
