Mark spoke about the issues in his new book “The Trouble with Paris” (based partly around the phenomenon that is Paris Hilton). He delves dipper into the impact that the media/entertainment industries have on our understandings of ourselves and our society.
In “Yesterday’s Diary” Janet told us about visiting a special vet hospital in Woodend that she had read about in the paper. Janet encouraged us to all give our pets an extra hug!
I also spoke to Noel, who had previously rung on Wednesday for Yesterday’s Diary to tell me about a swimming team that he is starting in conjunction with the police for young people who are verging on criminal activities. He hopes that this team will help them develop a new culture. You suggested heaps of names for this team (because Noel didn’t have one) and I presented all the names to Noel today – he chose “Different Strokes”. Congratulations to Joy who came up with the name – and as Noel indicated it has a great double meaning!
