Your Morning Blog (Nov 17th - Mon)

Monday, 17 November 2008 by Clayton Bjelan

oscar_correa.jpgOscar Correa from SLAM was my guest on 1-on-1 today.  SLAM is part of Prison Fellowship and is about sports teams heading into prisons to play against inmates in soccer and basketball.  We chatted about the reason for going into the prisons, how the teams keep safe and some of the stories of prisoners lives changing for the better as the SLAM team members share their faith.  You can email Oscar for any more details: o.correa@prisonfellowship.org.au  And download the PODCAST by clicking here.  The podcast contains exclusive audio previously not hear on-air!

In “Yesterday’s Diary” Emelina rang to let me know that she had finished year 12!!  Her final exam was last Friday (Geography) and she says that it was her best.  She has already applied for a job (the interview was on Saturday) and she hopes to go too Europe in 2010 and then go to Uni to study music.  Well done and good luck in the future Emelina!

Today’s ‘Your Morning SMS’ poll stemmed from the fact that the World Cyber Games was held over the weekend in Germany.  I asked the question, "If chess is considered a sport, motor racing and horse racing considered a sport - is professional video gaming a sport?"  It was a unanamious 100% NO.  Make sure you put in the Light FM SMS number to take part in any future polls - 0428 899 899.

  Speak to you tomorrow -
