It's been a fun but very challenging week.... the highlight being told by Loretta Watson I HAVE BICEPS. If you don't believe me then check out the photo...... and no.... it hasn't been photo shopped. It's all me. A muscle that's been hidden away for all this time that I didn't even know existed!
How exciting. Now for my weekly progress. It's really hitting home how much attention my eating plan needs. With so much to do I feel a bit ovewhelmed but then I remember what I have told my clients over the years. Just focus on one thing at a time....
So this week I have decided to work on increasing my protein level as suggested by Loretta (see the photo of me below tucking into a protein rich snack of tuna slice and chicken under the watchful eye of coach Loretta).
I'm aiming for 5-6 meals per day with a good source of protein, some quality carbohydrates and a small amout of good fat! It means I really have to plan ahead. Lets just say I was almost arm deep in tuna last weekend as I whipped up some slabs of tuna slice. Training with Loretta went well on Wednesday and thankfully there were no embarrassing moments ... only a moment where my brain and body wouldn't coordinate. It was my thumbs.. they just wouldn't cooperate. I couldn't move them into the right position to perform a shoulder press but thankfully Loretta came to the rescue and moved them for me.
I have to admit I almost groaned or should I say yelled when lifting weights this week for the first time ever. Just as I would think I had finished a set Loretta would say "come on give me 4 more" Are you serious? I would think........ but then I would keep going. (mind you I think I'd stop if I were on my own!) It's amazing what you can do with some encouragement from someone else and by keeping focus on what you're doing it all for - for me it's all about working toward the best possible outcome for my lungs!
I almost forgot to tell you I've put on 1 KG!!! this week and I'm feeling more energetic which is fantastic. So all up things are going really well. I hope your fitness plan is working well for you too!
