Anyone who knows me or listens to my show each weeknight would certainly know that my favourite band of all time is Relient K!
I am a massive fan of their music - I could do a very good "screaming-high-school-girl" impersonation just talking about them. Imagine my excitement and over whelming nerves when I got to interview the lead singer Matt Theissen and guitarist John Warne backstage when the band was in Melbourne for Youth Alive!
Normally, I don't get "star-stuck" or do anything embarrassing when around various music artists. But this was RELIENT K! So with that in mind, I was trying my best to not let the 'psycho fan Jess' take control of my thoughts so that 'normal, professional Jess' could ask coherent questions in the interview.
After getting exceptionally lost (and trapped at one point) in the Rod Laver Arena car park, I was well and truly late for the interview. For some strange reason, that seemed to calm me down. I didn't (much to the surprise of my close friends) faint, giggle, gape, scream or anything else remotely embarrassing in front of my favourite band...
...Although a silly question or two may have slipped through in the interview.
