Humilitas: A lost key to life, love and leade...

Wednesday, 22 February 2012 by Benny Mathai

Over the past few weeks Leigh Hatcher has been on a journey to unlock the key to love, life and leadership on Open House. Leigh talked to Author biblical historian, TV presenter and director of a multi-media think tank - John Dickson. This week's episode will take you through part three of this subject.

John is author  of the book Humilitas: A lost key to life, love and leadership, a book that shows how the virtue of humility was an important character trait even for the 'greats' of history and figures prominently in the findings of psychology and sociology. The book also states that developing humility can transform one's personal relationships and professional dealings.

John Dickson began his career as singer/songwriter for Aussie rock band In The Silence, touring and recording for seven years before temporarily giving music away to focus on academic studies and a wide-ranging career as a speaker and author.

On this week's show learn the difference between humility and tolerance. Does it really matter that they are different? John Dickson talks about the concept of tolerance in the context of the spiritual realm. He says that humility is considering the other person as important as one self and treating tem as another creation in God's own image. John also states in hios book that humility is common sense.
