The Rice Meal is a local initiative attempting to raise donations for Care Australia. An event will be held at the Croydon Cricket Club on Sunday Feb 12, 2012 to assist those less fortunate and raise awareness of the plight they face. A $25 ticket (donation) will give you a bowl of rice, water and a chance to listen to speakers who are active in helping others in need. The event may appear to be low key, but with the festive celebrations behind us, the idea is to get a reality check on what a significant portion of the world’s population have to live on every day and to raise a little money to help those who are active in the field.
