Lamentations3:21-25
This I recall to my mind,therefore I have hope: The Lord’s lovingkindnesses indeed never cease, for Hiscompassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.
The Lord is my portion,”says my soul, “Therefore I have hope in Him.”
The Lord is good to thosewho wait for Him, to the person who seeks Him.
God’slovingkindnesses and compassions are new every morning!
Ifthis was not true, we would live in depression most days of our lives. We wouldconstantly wonder if God would strike us down today. We would hesitate to cometo Him in prayer, believing that He didn’t really want to see us; we wouldcower away from Him, covered in guilt; we would think of Him only as a hard andangry judge whose laws had been offended.
Butevery morning when you get up, remember that God’s lovingkindness andcompassion toward you are new and fresh today. God is ready to meet with youand renew you spiritually and cleanse you. You are His son or daughter. You mayhave offended Him deeply, but you are still His child and He wants to renew thecloseness of your walk with Him.
God’sreminding you that whatever you wake up to in this coming year, you can “hope in Him”. If you will once again “wait for Him” and “seek Him”, you will once again experience His goodness.
