You died with Christ!
Our union with Christ is not understood very much or verywell by very many people. We say that Christ died for us, but we don’t reallyunderstand that we also died with Christ. As the Apostle Paul says in Galatians2:20, “I have been crucified with Christ”.Paul tells the Colossians, “For you havedied and your life is hidden with Christ in God” (Colossians 3:3).
Because of your union with Christ, when He died, you died.The penalty for the guilt of all your sins is death. God has pronounced youguilty and passed sentence. And the sentence has already been carried out onyou. You deserved to die, and you died…inChrist.
God is reassuring you that you don’t need to fear that whenyou die, God may reject you, or that there’s still something owed. Your accountis paid in full…because you were “inChrist” when He died!
