Ephesians5:13-17
But all things becomevisible when they are exposed by the light, for everything that becomes visibleis light. For this reason it says,
“Awake, sleeper, and arisefrom the dead, and Christ will shine on you.” Therefore be careful how youwalk, not as unwise men but as wise, makingthe most of your time, because the days are evil. So then do not befoolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.
Makethe most of your time!
Noneof us wants to waste our lives. We don’t sit down and plan to waste our years.Yet, often before we know it, time has passed and we look back in shock at howtime has flown and we have not done with our lives what we ought to have doneby now.
TheLord is reminding us today that we can avoid this tragedy, not through some bigformula or complicated time-management system, but simply by “making the most of our time!”
Oneman has said, “Most time is wasted, not in hours, but in minutes. A bucket witha small hole in the bottom gets just as empty as a bucket that is deliberatelykicked over.”
He’sright, isn’t he? When we let the little minutes slip away with nothing of valuein them, our life is slipping away. Once gone, time can never be retrieved.What moments can you give to God today?
