John14:23-27
Jesus answered and said tohim, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him,and We will come to him and make Our abode with him. He who does not love Medoes not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine, but the Father’swho sent Me. These things I have spoken to you while abiding with you. But theHelper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teachyou all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you. Peace Ileave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give toyou. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.
Youcan have peace in any circumstances!
Weknow that until Christ’s return there will never be political peace in thisworld. Conflict is a very real part of life in this fallen world. Stressfulsituations abound, whether we’re Christians or not.
We’llnever have perfectly peaceful circumstances in this life. But that’s not whatJesus is talking about in this passage. He’s not talking about peacefulsituations, but peace in your heart.
TheLord wants you to know that He can give you that kind of peace, even when thecircumstances around you are anything but peaceful. “Do not let your heart be troubled.”
