Thereis great value in praying together with others!
Ifyou want to develop your prayer life, you need to develop it in two directions:firstly, in the area of your own personal relational interaction with God, andsecondly, in the area of praying with others. If you choose the right “others”to pray with, your group prayer will be one of the biggest factors in thegrowth and maturity of your own personal prayer life.
WhenI was a teenager, I began meeting with a group of older men in my church forprayer at 8am every Saturday morning. It was immediately obvious to me thatthese men knew God deeply and knew how to pray. There were times when we prayedfor two hours and I just listened and agreed with their prayers, and times whenI couldn’t keep from praying the things on my heart.
Wewere not just praying through a list, we were calling on God for His work inour lives and in our church. Through those men I learned when to claimsomething in faith, how to express my heart to God, how to use the Bible inprayer.
