1 John 5:11-12 And the testimony isthis, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He whohas the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have thelife.
Eternal life is not given to us in addition to ourrelationship with Christ. Rather, it is His life—if you have the Son, you haveHis life!
When Jesus Christ enters into your life, you’re united withHim spiritually. He doesn’t give you eternal life as a separate gift. He givesyou Himself; it’s His life which becomes a part of your life!
In the Apostle Peter’s terminology, you “become partakers of the divine nature” (2 Peter 1:4). Jesus prayedfor us “that they may all be one; even asYou, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us” (John17:21).
It’s almost too much to comprehend: Christ hasn’t only donesomething for us, but He’s shared His life with us! We have been “united with Him [Christ]” (Romans6:3-5)! Jesus is not simply showing us how to live, but He is living in us.
The Lord Jesus wants you to know today that you’re not ableto live for Him. It’s too hard for you. But He’s able to live that life andyou’ve been united with Him. He is in you. Why don’t you invite Him to live Hislife in you today?
