Isaiah 40:28-31 Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth does not become weary or tired. His understanding is inscrutable. He gives strength to the weary, and to him who lacks might He increases power. Though youths grow weary and tired, and vigorous young men stumble badly, yet those who wait for the Lord will gain new strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary.

God has “new strength” for you if you will wait for Him!

As you move into the New Year ahead of you, do not forget that the everlasting source of life and strength and meaning and purpose and power is God. Though you may be tired, He does not become tired. Though your feet stumble, God is as full of energy as the day He created this universe.

How foolish you would be to move into this New Year without taking time to renew your relationship with God. Notice that in these verses, God does not encourage us to wait for new strength. No, God’s message to us today is to wait for HIM. When your relationship with God is deep and close, then the new strength will flow. But He is the focus! Turn the eyes of your heart on God.
