John16:29-33
His disciples said, “Lo,now You are speaking plainly and are not using a figure of speech. Now we knowthat You know all things, and have no need for anyone to question You; by thiswe believe that You came from God.” Jesus answered them, “Do you now believe?Behold, an hour is coming, and has already come, for you to be scattered, eachto his own home, and to leave Me alone; and yet I am not alone, because theFather is with Me. These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may havepeace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome theworld.”
Jesus’presence with us gives us courage and peace in the midst of craziness!
Inthis passage, Jesus knows He is about to go through that terrible time oftesting. The disciples are going to abandon Him and the physical torture isgoing to be excruciating. What gives Him peace? He says, “and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with Me.”
Andin the stressful situation you face in your life today, Jesus is with you! Justas the Father was with Him, so He is with you. What is Jesus’ message to youtoday? “In the world you havetribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.” In Him, you canovercome anything.
