Mark9:20-24
They brought the boy toHim. When he saw Him, immediately the spirit threw him into a convulsion, andfalling to the ground, he began rolling around and foaming at the mouth. And Heasked his father, “How long has this been happening to him?” And he said, “Fromchildhood. It has often thrown him both into the fire and into the water todestroy him. But if You can do anything, take pity on us and help us!” AndJesus said to him, “‘If You can?’ All things are possible to him who believes.”Immediately the boy’s father cried out and said, “I do believe; help myunbelief.”
Ifyou are struggling with unbelief, be honest about it.
AsJesus gently reprimanded this man for his unbelief, the man didn’t hang hishead and walk away. Rather, he spoke to Jesus very honestly about his faith. Hesaid, “I do have some faith, but not enough; Jesus, would you increase myfaith?”
Thisis the kind of prayer God loves. The man did not try to use big faith words and“claim” this healing as if he had more faith than he did. No, he expressed thefaith he did have and then begged God to increase his faith.
Godwants honesty from you today, too. Express both your faith and your strugglesof faith to God and ask Him to increase your faith.
