2Timothy 2:1-2
You therefore, my son, bestrong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. The things which you have heardfrom me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men whowill be able to teach others also.
Followthe Lord’s example in the use of your time!
Theprinciple Paul’s teaching in this passage is exactly what we see in Jesus’ lifeand ministry—the job God has for us to do is too big for us to do. We mustpartner with other believers around us to get it done.
Myjob’s too big for me and your job’s too big for you. But as we work together, great things can be accomplished. And some of what needs to be accomplishedwill be done by others after we are gone.
Ifyou have a ministry role, you should be asking God who He wants you to trainand equip to take up that role after you, or maybe even with you—multiplyingyour work for God through the lives of others.
Jesusdid spend time directly ministering to the multitudes. But increasingly as timewent by, He spent more and more of His time with the disciples. When His timeon earth was gone, they were still there building His Kingdom on earth in thehearts and lives of many.
Hewants you to invest spiritually in the lives of others around you as well.
