Christmas is getting closer and closer.... so in What's On this week we take a look at places to go to celebrate the Christmas season with your family, right here in Melbourne!
Christmas Light Display at the State Library
It came as an absolute surprise as it hasn’t been advertised in many places: I walked straight out of Melbourne Central and there it was. At night time, the front of the State Library becomes a massive screen and Christmas lights and displays are projected onto it… the show also runs with music.
It's spectacular. The State Library is situated at the Cnr of Lonsdale and Swanston Streets in the city.
Melbourne Christmas Photography Competition
The family that sticks together… wins together! This is a great opportunity for your family to spread the true meaning of Christmas by entering the Melbourne City Council Christmas Photography Competition. All you have to do is take photos of the Christmas displays in the City and you could win $500.
The competition ends on December 24th so start snapping and check the Thats Melbourne Facebook page for more information.
Combined Charities Christmas Card Sale
Are you looking for that Christmas card for someone special - and would like to also help out charities during the Christmas season? You can do both with the North Essendon Uniting Church’s Combined Charities Christmas Card Sale. With lots of cards for sale, for any type of person… make sure you don’t miss out.
The North Essendon Uniting Church is located at 132 Keilor Road, North Essendon. The shop is open until 17th December (Thursdays & Fridays 9.30-4pm, Saturdays 9.30am-12.30pm).
